When someone says the word ‘wedding’ what images appear in your mind? Prince Charming, a fairy godmother, horse drawn carriages; lace and tulle; roses and fresh flowers of all kinds. When we asked our bride Ashley about her wedding ideas, she knew one thing for sure – the celebration had to be at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay. She had dreamed about having her wedding there for as long as she could remember with a lush garden feel. We happily set about making her vision a reality.

First, we filled the ballroom with luscious florals. A soft and romantic style was the inspiration. Flowers were everything and Kathleen Deery Design executed our vision perfectly. The tables were topped with pinks, blush, white and green arrangements, hydrangeas, garden roses and dahlias. To take the event to the next level, we needed something grand. And that’s where Natasha and Daniel of team Waterlily Pond came in. They constructed a Great Wall of Roses tucked inside of a custom frame to adorn one wall of the ballroom. How many roses do you suppose they used? The answer is over 10,000. Yes that’s right. A wall of over 10,000 roses. It was a beautiful backdrop for the wedding party table and a second floral wall was made for the photo booth. Many guests enjoyed taking selfies in front of those pastel beauties. Opposite the Great Wall of Roses, we incorporated a green moss wall with gold framed mirrors. These two walls created a dramatic transformation in the ballroom and provided the fresh garden atmosphere we wanted. Above, hung beautiful fabric and beaded chandeliers. And just to add one more spark of surprise and awe to the reception, the couple requested a confetti drop during their first dance. Afterwards, guests danced the night away to tunes spun by DJ D Sharp of the Golden State Warriors and the bride and groom took over the turntables for awhile too. What an amazing and memorable night – full of fun and laughter!
