Is there anything more relaxing than lounging outside on a beautiful sunny day? Your view of the natural landscape around you goes on for miles. Your friends and family are gathered around, enjoying each other’s company, swapping stories, sharing all those life updates you’ve been too busy to tell them about. The setting is peaceful, bucolic, even, and there are flowers, pillows and best of all, a professional bar staff crafting seasonally appropriate cocktails while waiters pass around the most delectable small bites for noshing. Sounds ideal, doesn't it? That’s exactly the sort of atmosphere we like to create when we design lounge settings for special events. The lounge often serves as a welcoming spot for the beginning of festivities. Whether a wedding reception or a retirement party, a lounge area says “welcome in, let’s get this party started off right.” Guests smile and greet each other, check out the venue (and the gorgeous decor) and decide it’s time for a refreshment. So consider yourselves invited into this chic lounge vignette we designed for a reception at The Barn at Green Valley. Complimenting the sweeping natural landscape, we brought in warm wood tones with a soft green and buttery yellow color palette. The colors are earthy yet cheerful. Fluffy pillows and cushions create a cozy vibe and lend texture to the scene. The carved wooden bar is not only stylish but is also fully stocked and topped with signature cocktail suggestions. We’ve also included a few fun activities into this lounge area too: the Instax mini 9 camera for guest book photos, the ‘write your own message’ Jenga blocks and the monogrammed cornhole game.
